The Wandering is an online/offline show inspired by the music of Franz Schubert and conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic. This multi-format experimental opera is a visual album, a narrative drama, and live interaction woven between digital and physical components.
Production was supported by by Yale Schwarzman Center and Jacobs School of Music, where it debuted at the ‘Innovation in Art Song’ Summit. It has been reviewed favorably by Opera News and described by The Reviews Hub as “an immersive theatrical experience that can be enjoyed from anywhere in the world [...] the viewer will notice their perception shift as they take their experiences from The Prism out into the world. Through the videos, online world, and mailed materials, the effect of a remote immersive experience is achieved beautifully.”
